This weekend PIARC presents Round 2 of the 2018 Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships at the Picturesque and Exciting Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit situated at back Beach Road Ventnor which in 2018 becomes party central as the Island Celebrates 150 Years of which 90 have involved Motor Racing both on the original Road Circuit and the Current Modern Circuit since 1956.
Category entries include 29 Sports Sedans,43 Improved Production, 54 Circuit Excels, 22 MG and British Sports Cars, Formula Fords, Formula Ford 1600, Formula Vee, 24 HQ Holdens, Sports Cars, Porsche 944, Saloon Cars and Historic Touring Cars.
All up a huge 254 entries for this May madness following Supercars late last month.
PIARC President Geoff Bull enthused that the record 254 car entry for a State Championship at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit was a fitting landmark to accompany Phillip Islands 150th Anniversary Celebrations in 2018.
Whilst the Formula Ford 1600 category receives a bolster with 7 historic Formula Fords joining the 1600 ranks, led by category administrator Phil Marrinon, watch out for more historic Formula Fords as the season progresses given we have a 40% increase over 2017.
It doesn’t stop there with the Circuit Excels record of 54 entries out of a grid potential 58.
The Improved Production field is again growing in numbers and Sports Sedans are building towards Island Magic on November 24/25 when their Championship concludes.
The action commences at 9.00am, raging until 5.00 pm daily.
