The L&H 500 Phillip Island event kicks off the V8 Supercars 'Season of Endurance' this 16 - 18 September 2011.

The competition heats up every year when the V8 Supercars roar into Victoria. As the first of three major endurance events, the Phillip Island circuit is the birthplace of the race we now know as the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. Originally known as the Armstrong 500, the event was first held in 1960 and would be held for a further two years on the ‘Island. Damage to the circuit prompted organisers to move the event to Bathurst for 1963 and it has since become one of the jewels in the Australian sporting crown. Phillip Island became the new home of the pre-Bathurst endurance event in 2008.
