The Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships for 2015 commence at Phillip Island this weekend April 18-19 using the Picturesque and Exciting Island Circuit.
With all the usual entertaining state categories including Improved Production, Formula Ford, Formula Ford 1600, Formula Vee, HQ Holdens, MGs, Sports Sedans, Sports Cars, Porsche 944, Saloon Cars and Historic Touring Car, a slightly smaller entry than the fantastic 224 cars in 2014 is expected.
Never the less action a plenty is assured from 9.00am to 5.00 pm daily, with an Adults weekend pass only $30.00 and kids under 16 admitted free.
This meeting is the first of 5 race meetings being promoted by PIARC (Phillip Island Auto Racing Club) in 2015, and one of 6 for the year for the Club, culminating on November 28/29 with the 25th Anniversary Island Magic meeting.
It is also the first of the 4 round Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships being conducted at both Phillip Island and Sandown throughout the year.
Next weekend once again sees a large field of the Improved Production Cars with 33 entries producing a great variety of cars which gravitate to the challenges of the Iconic Island Circuit with its high speed straights and fast challenging corners.
The golden Holdens, the ever entertaining HQs have made something of resurgence to start 2015 with 26 entries to be supported by a public display of a promised 50 odd road cars from the HQ Cruise Club of Victoria which will be cruising to the Island especially to witness Sundays HQ races.
