The Motorsport Australia 2021 Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships Round 3 is scheduled at Phillip Island on May 15 & 16 with an expected entry of more than 250 cars.

This enduring and premier Australian State Championship Series Round has entered what would have been its 30th consecutive year as a championship or series at Australia’s Most Picturesque Circuit, but for the 2020 intervention of COVID-19 Pandemic.

With almost 200 entries 2021 is showing a great Return to Racing and looks like challenging the 2019 entries with a week until entries close. The Circuit Excels are below capacity potential of 58 entries, but have an encouraging entry with more expected. Improved Production are again proving the strongest with 31plus the 9 BMW E30s listed giving a healthy 40 with a possible total of 50. Formula Ford have a healthy 15 cars plus the 7 entered for Formula Ford 1600 to provide the usual excitement. The MG and Invited British Sports Cars have 17 to date whilst the Formula Vees have a way to go with 13 entries. The Porsche 944s are building with 15 whilst Sports Cars are looking for a late rush of exotica to add to the Porsche 997 and 991.1, Lamborghini’s already entered.

Sports Sedans, Saloons, Historic Touring Cars and HQs make the balance of entries.

Action a plenty is assured from 9.00am to 5.00 pm daily, with family friendly admission great value with Adults weekend passes a mere $30.00, Sunday only $25.00, Saturday $20.00 and kids under 16 admitted free all weekend.

This meeting is the second of 4 race meetings being promoted by PIARC (Phillip Island Auto Racing Club) for 2021, and one of 5 for the year with Club involvement, all with the added importance of helping the Island’s great history as a racing Mecca.

PIARC spokesman Geoff Bull says the club is hoping for 250 plus entries in total for this fantastic series which continues to get better by the year with great racing assured.

Again this event is Round 3 of 5 for Motorsport Australia Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships 2021 and is being conducted at both Phillip Island and Sandown throughout the year, with a round last month at the Winton circuit near Benalla.

In the meantime make sure you note May 15 & 16 in your diary for a weekend of great budget priced family motorsport action at Phillip Island.
