This weekend PIARC presents Round 2 of the 2019 Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, May 4-5.
Category entries are fantastic and include 40 Improved Production, 58 Circuit Excels, 26 Sports Sedans, 22 MG and British Sports Cars, 7 Formula Fords, 10 Formula Ford 1600, 20 Formula Vee, 16 HQ Holden’s, 21 Porsche 944, 9 Saloon Cars, 11 BMW E30s and 21 Historic Touring Cars.
PIARC President Geoff Bull enthused that the record 261 car entry for a State Championship at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit was a massive response from the competitors and is to be applauded as it exceeds last year’s 253 cars which in itself was a great achievement.
Formula Ford 1600 this year outnumber Formula Fords which is a role reversal over the previous year. Circuit Excels capacity grid of 58 is an outstanding achievement with reserves waiting should any cars drop out.
The Improved Production field is again great with 40 vehicles even without BMW E30s included in that number, as they are combining with Saloons for a split start whilst the Porsche 944’s have separate races as reward for effort in building their field to 21.
Enthusiasts have the opportunity to mix socially with the drivers on Friday night at Ramada Resort Phillip Island Road Cowes, for the pre-event document check commencing at 5.30pm in the Numbers Café.
The on track action commences at 9.00am Saturday, racing until 5.00 pm daily.
Adults weekend passes are an easy on the pocket family friendly $30.00, with kids under 16 admitted free. 31 Races assure great budget priced nonstop entertainment over 2 days, with spectacular views all around the circuit from the comfort of your car with 87.6 Island Magic FM commentary for free.
This meeting is the second of the 5 Round 2019 CAMS Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships being conducted at Phillip Island, Sandown and Winton throughout the year. If you want non-stop action CAMS VSCRC events are the go-to ticket in Victoria.
