Latest WorldSBK News – Remy Gardner, Toprak Razgatlioglu, Tayla Relph & more!

Remy Gardner making consistent progress!

Remy Gardner continues to make significant strides in the 2024 Superbike World Championship with consistent performances. At Donington Park, Gardner showed good potential with a strong showing. Despite a challenging start in Race 1, he battled fiercely to finish in tenth place, securing valuable championship points. Gardner’s ability to recover positions and maintain a steady race pace continues to prove his growing confidence in the competitive world of Superbike racing.

Moving to Autodrom Most, Czech Republic, Gardner further consolidated on his confidence. During the final free practice session, he topped the timesheets with an impressive lap time of 1’30.889 aboard his Yamaha R1. The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK team capitalized on a productive Warm Up session, setting solid lap times ahead of the Tissot Superpole Race. In the intense 10-lap Superpole contest, Gardner rode competitively, securing a commendable fifth place and maintaining his position for Race 2.

Starting from fifth on the grid for Race 2, Gardner made a strong start and swiftly moved into third position early on, firmly in contention for a podium finish. Throughout the 22-lap race, the Australian rider consistently set quick laps, pushing hard until the checkered flag to secure a fourth-place finish.

Reflecting on his performance, Gardner expressed a blend of healthy disappointment and constructive optimism: “I’m a bit disappointed with fourth place, but it’s a positive indicator of our potential. We were fortunate to avoid incidents and maintained a strong pace throughout Race 2. Although we couldn’t quite reach the podium, I’m satisfied with our overall performance this weekend.”

Tayla Relph’s Impressive Weekend in Women’s WRC

In the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship at Donington Park, Australia’s only representative in the historic new division, Tayla Relph demonstrated her talent and guts, delivering her best performance so far. Despite a recent shoulder injury from the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round, Relph secured solid finishes in both races, showcasing her potential in the competitive field of women’s motorcycle racing.

Recovering from a very difficult first round, Relph is now positioned at 9th in the standings with 21 points. Relph was happy with her weekend’s results and looks forward to building on this momentum in upcoming rounds: “I’m pleased with how the weekend unfolded. The competition was fierce, but I managed to stay focused and execute our race strategy effectively. Each race is a learning experience, and I’m motivated to continue improving and aiming for better results in the future.”
