The 2022 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship fires back into life after an enjoyable summer break, with the Pirelli French Round kickstarting the second half of a monumental season so far. One of the headlines coming into the seventh round of the season is that Michael van der Mark (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) is returning to action for the first time since Estoril, having suffered a second leg injury of the season in an FP1 highside.

Always one to ignore the Championship standings, reigning World Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu has his eyes on the hat-trick prize this weekend at one of his favourite and most successful circuits.

Championship leader Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati – Racing) is looking at redeeming his best efforts at Magny-Cours for the Pirelli French Round this weekend, marking the 7th round of the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship. This weekend will mark Bautista’s fourth visit to Magny-Cours, and his second with Ducati.

After a six-week gap, the WorldSSP field returns to action in France to kick start the second half of the season.

Superpole and race lap records have fallen in all six rounds in 2022, while overall race times are down considerably this season too.
