Motorcycling Australia (MA) is pleased to announce that Wild Card applications for the Australian round of the FIM 2016 Motul Superbike World Championship are now open.

Yamaha’s return to wsbk for 2016 was officially kicked off this week, and the 2015 world champions, Kawasaki worked on their new 2016 spec bike at a two day WorldSBK test at Spain’s Jerez.

Torres and Haslam get a win a piece at the final round of the season, while Welshman Davies knocks off Sykes for 2^nd in the championship and World champion Rea ends his winning season with a DNF.

Jonathan Rea, the World Champion dpes the double for the fifth time this year after a three-rider battle raged from the start. 

Jonathan Rea has been crowned World Superbike Champion of 2015 after a stellar season including 12 race wins and 20 podium finishes from 21 races.

It’s promising to be a world superbike island scorcher, with tickets going on sale today for Australia’s launch of the 2016  Superbike World Championship, slated for February 26-28* at Victoria’s Phillip Island.
